Winter weather advisory and a snow update

Overnight weather update. As of 9:45 p.m. The National Weather Service extended its Winter Weather Advisory to include most of the 92.1 listening area. This advisory is in effect until 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

Snow has moved into the Kansas City metro area and towards our area. Snowfall totals for this area will be between 3/4 of an inch to possibly an 1 1/4 inches of accumulation.

This is a light fluffy snow, so moisture content is not great, and drifting is not a concern due to the lack of winds associated with this system.

Overnight temperatures will drop into the mid-teens around the area, and not much warm-up tomorrow as we’ll see temperatures in the lower 20s.
